The Damned | Lovely Money | (Bronze) 1982

“Lovely Money” / “I Think I’m Wonderful” (Bronze BROP 149) June 1982

The Damned | Lovely Money | (Bronze) 1982 | In which the Damned do little to aid the well-being of the EEC. ‘Lovely Money’ is not, as you might think an ode to avarice but a wholly approving view of the way that tourists are ripped off in our fair capital.

With a Beatlish sound – a million miles away from row people’s punk (have Tank taken over that area?) – it should be dedicated to anyone who’s ever sent a foreigner the wrong way down Oxford street. (Sounds, 19/06/82)

The Damned | Lovely Money | (Bronze) 1982

These Damned persons have mellowed somewhat since the successive fits and starts of their halcyon days. This could have come off The Jam’s ‘Setting Sons’, such is it’s mood and overall Britishness. (Record Mirror, 19/06/82)
