”You Were On My Mind” / ”What I’m Gonna Be” (Decca F. 12287) November 1965
Crispian St. Peters | You Were On My Mind | (Decca) 1965 | Crispian St. Peters partially dual tracks the mid-tempo “You Were On My Mind” (Decca), a combination of thumping beat and whistle-able melody. (NME, 19/11/65)
I don’t care for this chap’s name – which reminds me of toast, but I rather like this record. Originally done by the We Five, the American group, this was a song lots of other people wanted to make. And no wonder. It’s rather super!
Nice backing which builds up and I like the way they double-track the voices behind each other. “What I’m Gonna Be” on the other side. (Disc Weekly, 20/11/65)
