Episode 14
Dylanisms | Podcast Mixes Celebrating Bob Dylan Cover Versions |‘Dylanisms’ is my 10-song mix podcast project, building an extensive archive of (mostly) 1960s recordings of Bob Dylan songs as recorded by various solo performers and groups many years ago.
I will zoom in on the well known and the very obscure outfits who covered Dylan’s numbers, in particular those unknown teenage garage bands from USA. There are many but this list on Wikipedia doesn’t even acknowledge them.
My ‘Dylanisms’ project will be regular and will uncover everything worth hearing. It will last for a one-year paid subscription with my hosting platform RSS.com. By then, my mission will have been accomplished and the Gods shall anoint my feet with patchouli oil . . .
Honourable cover versions:
Tracks in order of appearance:
01 Erik – “She Belongs To Me”
02 Erik – “One Too Many Mornings”
Erik was a 16-year-old folk singer when he recorded two Dylan numbers for his debut single on General International Records.

03 The Empty Set – “Tomorrow Is A Long Time”
”Tomorrow Is A Long Time” would have been a perfect Bob Dylan composition for The Byrds treatment however, The Empty Set really do turn on the style and have created a worthy jangler.
04 Evil Encorporated – “All I Really Wanna Do”
Low budget recording of Dylan’s well known song, covered many times.
05 The Supremes – “Blowin’ In The Wind”
This track was a popular choice for two Motown acts in 1966 with Stevie Wonder recording it for his ‘Uptight’ album and the Supremes recording a version which was to lay in the vaults for three years until the ‘Cream Of The Crop’ was released in 1969.
06 The Waterboys – “Girl From The North Country”
previously unreleased version. From ‘Hard Rain #1’ (Uncut CD)
