The Undertones | Wednesday Week | (Sire) 1980

“Wednesday Week” / “Told You So” (Sire SIR 4042) June 1980

The Undertones | Wednesday Week | (Sire) 1980 | Right about now this column needs a little innocent light relief, and who better to supply it than The Undertones? Almost my favourite group, barring about a hundred others.

No doubt the fetching, plaintive tones of ‘Wednesday Week’ will be achingly familiar to those who already own their second album. No doubt its lack of overt jollity will come as a surprise to those who don’t.

Looks like the chums have got another mediocre hit on their hands. (NME, 29/06/80)
