The Changin’ Times | Pied Piper | (Philips) 1965 | Visiting from New York, Artie Kornfeld and Steve Duboff of The Changin’ Times looking out over the Sunset Strip veranda of Gene Autry’s Continental West Hotel, with the Sunset Tower in the background. “How Is The Air Up There”?

The Changin’ Times enjoyed some success with their first folk-rock single “Pied Piper”, which was a sizeable hit in Los Angeles at the back end of 1965. Crispian St. Peters also recorded the song and also scored impressively with a Top 5 hit in the UK Charts.

But despite their hit single status and quality of their songs the Changin’ Times have never received much acclaim since their heyday. No retrospective collection has ever been assembled and very few of their numbers have appeared on compilations.

Trade magazine reviews

Pied Piper | Right up the Dylan alley of successes, this folk-rhythm winner can’t miss. Produced by the team Koppleman-Rubin, this hard rocker is aimed at the top of the charts. Exciting group sound.
Flip: “Thank You Babe”

How Is The Air Up There? | The Changin’ Times hit with the “Pied Piper” last time out and have a stomping funky folk-rocker on this showing side. Hard driver could get lots of attention from the teens.
Flip: “Young And Innocent Girl” same back over here.

I Should Have Brought Her Home | Here’s an off-beat piece of material called “I Should Have Brought Her Home” which should take the Changin’ Times up the hitsville path with lightning speed. It’s a plaintive, slow-moving fusion of classical themes about an unhappy fella who missed the romantic boat with a certain special gal.
Flip: “Goin’ Lovin’ With You” is a pulsating, uptempo warm-hearted teen-angled romancer.

All In The Mind Of A Young Girl | Is as contemporary as today’s headlines – folkish and with a point of view. The Changin’ Times is all the number could ask for. An exciting group whose potential should be realised with this beauty.
Flip: “Aladdin” maintains the team’s strong approach.

Free Spirit | A fast, zestful melody-rocker, this one could grab a sizeable chunk of airplay for the Changin’ Times., Stay on it.
Flip: “You Just Seem To Know” Bouncy item for the romance-minded.
